Tri-colour falls off post in Rajouri during R-Day function, probe ordered, cop suspended

Rajouri, Jan 26 : District Magistrate Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Saturday ordered an inquiry into the felling of a tricolor off the post as it was hoisted at the main R-Day function in Rajouri district of Jammu on Saturday.

The committee comprising ADC Rajouri Sher Singh and ASP Rajouri Liaqat Kalas, have been asked to enquire into the facts of the matter and submit the report within a week’s period positively.

The concerned Havaldar of police has been also placed under suspension, officials told news agency.

Earlier, the tricolor fell off the post and landed on the ground as soon the district magistrate Rajouri pulled the string at the police lines.

Reports said that policemen deployed near the podium reacted immediately and attached the flag to the post. (GNS)
