Agriculture casual labours protests in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 05 : The casual labours of agriculture department on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar and demanded regularisation and implementation of SRO 520 in their services.

Reports said scores of casual labours of agriculture department assembled at Pratab Park Srinagar, where they staged a protest demonstration to hightlight their demands.

They shouted slogans against government for failed to redress their long pending demands.

The protest was led by President of the association Haji Jahangir Ahmad who said, “We have been protesting for many years demanding the government to release our long pending wages and implement SRO 520 immediately.”

“Our files are pending in Secretariat since very long and we have been asked to submit 120 cash vouchers which are not mentioned in the SRO 520,” he said.

Meanwhile the protesting casual labours again appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter.
