Sopore Youth’s Gun-Wielding Picture Goes Viral; Family Rejects, Says He Is Pursuing Education In Pakistan

Sopore, Feb 18 : A family in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday rejected the joining into militancy ranks of their son whose gun-wielding picture has surfaced on social media.

According to the family, the youth Sadat Amin Malik Son of Mohammad Amin Malik, a resident of Krankshivan Colony Sopore, is pursuing Engineering in Pakistan.

The family members questioned the authenticity of picture, asserting that they are still in contact with him in Pakistan.

On Sunday evening, his gun-wielding picture surfaced on social media—the trend Kashmiri youth follow to announce their joining into militant ranks.

Meanwhile, SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal when contacted told GNS that soon after the picture went viral on social media a team of police visited his home.

However, he said, the family informed that their son is pursuing education in Pakistan. The SSP said that police was verifying the facts and in this regard, further investigation is underway. (GNS)
