Bus carrying students meets with accident in South Kashmir

Srinagar, May 3: Twenty four girl students were injured after a school excursion bus met with an accident in Siligam area of Ashmuqam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday evening.

Reports reaching said that a school excursion Bus bearing registration Number JK03-2711 of Government High School Dudhkul Kokernag, that was carrying students and staff of the school for a picnic met skidded off the road near Siligam in Ashmuqam.

The accident occurred when they were returning back from Phalgam, they said.

In the incident, twenty-four students were injured and were taken to Sub-District Hospital Seer for treatment.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mattan Dr Ashraf Padder told that the health facility has received 24 injured girl students and are being treated upon. He said that the condition of all the injured is stable.

A police officer also confirming it and said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up. (GNS)
