Director CAPD Kashmir reviews stock position for Amarnath Yatra, routine public distribution

Srinagar, Jun 23 : Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Kashmir Mohammad Qasim Wani on Sunday visited Anantnag to review supply position of essential commodities for Amarnath Yatra and routine public distribution in the south Kashmir areas.

Director CAPD Kashmir said all arrangements for supply of essentials to both Amarnath yatris and the general public are in place.

Regarding availability and distribution of sugar, the Director CAPD Kashmir said, “due to the subsidy issue for which the proposal has been sent to the government fresh sugar supplies are yet to come but 5000 quintals of sugar left in-utilised were distributed rationally on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr this year and more 10, 000 quintals left un-utilised in Jammu were brought to Kashmir and distributed.”

Exuding the confidence that government will soon resolve the subsidy issue in the case of sugar stocking, the Director CAPD said, “sugar availability would be ensured very soon.”

Talking about the distribution of rice and kerosene oil, the Director said, “both ration and kerosene oil are freely available in all the districts of Kashmir valley and bottle necks are removed wherever people complain of inadequacy.”

Saying that he also reviewed the issues coming up during Government’s public outreach program ‘back to village’, the Director CAPD said, “he has directed the officers of his department to ensure on spot redressal of the grievances coming up during public interactions held under ‘back to village’ program.” (KNS)
