June 24: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Sopore has arrested a drug peddler and seized contraband substance from his possession.
Police party of Police post Fruit Mandi led by Incharge Police Post arrested a drug peddler during Naka checking at Fruit Mandi Crossing and seized contraband substance from his possession.
One person identified as Tanveer Ahmad Dar Son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Reban Sopore was arrested for the drug supply offences has been taken to Police Post Fruit Mandi where he remains in custody.
Officer at the checkpoint have seized 115 grams of charas from his possession.
Case FIR No 172/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
