Police today claimed to have arrested three newly recruited Hizb militants in Srinagar. In a statement Police said that it arrested three newly recruited HM militants, who were involved in shooting SPO Romaan ( at Chanpora) and various grenade throwing incidents in Srinagar & Jammu cities.
SSP Srinagar Dr M Haseeb Mughal-JKPS flanked by SP South city Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS, SP Hazratbal Sudhanshu Verma IPS and SDPO Sadder Shabir Khan-JKPS in a Press conference at DPO ,Srinagar said that the arrests were made after series of human and technical investigative techniques by the Police.
SSP Srinagar said that the militants identified as Rasheed Lateef Mir ,Asif Iqbal Dar and Shahid Hassan Dar , were arrested from Barzulla and Soura area of the Srinagar city.He also said that Junaid Shehrai, HM commander tasked the militants to carry out terror events.
The officer also claimed to have recovered
1 Grenade , 15 AK 47 rounds ,2 Pistol rounds and a flag.
The attack on SPO at Chanapora was carried on 27/3/2019 resulting in injuries and grenades were thrown in Jammu(December) & Srinagar (January).
Subsequently FIR’s U/Secs of RPC, Arms Act ,UA(P)
were lodged at respective Police stations.Further investigation is in progress.
