Man held with heroin in Kupwara

Srinagar, Aug 2 : A person was arrested with approximately 3 kilograms of heroin in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Friday afternoon.

Official sources told that based on a specific input, officers established a naka at DPO Kupwara during which a Sumo (JK09-4751) was stopped and during searches the narcotic substance (heroin) concealed in three polythene packets weighing approximately 3 kilograms were recovered.

They said that has also been seized in the matter and the driver Sajad Ahmad was detained.

The vehicle was on way from Tanghdar towards Srinagar when it was stopped at DPO Kupwara.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that further details will be shared later. (GNS)
