Army Soldier missing after snow avalanche hits Gulmarg

Srinagar : An Army soldier went missing after snow avalanche hit the Army camp at famous tourist resort Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.


Reports reaching said that an army soldier identified as Havildar Rajinder Singh Negi of Garhwal Regiment are missing after an avalanche hit the army camp. More than five feet snow has accumulated as it is snowing continuously since Saturday night.


A police officer told Kashmir Indepth efforts are on to trace the missing soldier who had slipped into snow. Officer said that rescue operation have been hampered many times due to heavy snow level & inclement weather.
