Leaders who want to meet PM Modi should appreciate perception of Kashmiries on various issues

Srinagar, Jan 31 :  Senior Congress leader and former union Minister Professor Saif-U Din Soz on today said that “Some political leaders, including some members of the PDP, want to go to Delhi to meet PM Modi.

“Kashmiris should have no reason to doubt the Delegation’s bonafides. But, then, the perception of Kashmiris on various issues must be clearly appreciated by the delegation.

For instance, the delegation has put restoration of the statehood for the state as its main demand. It is absolutely wrong. This is the demand which the BJP has highlighted recently.

In a statement issued Soz said the people of Kashmir demand restoration of Article 370 of the Constitution of India or its ‘Correct Equivalent’ as it is this Article that had explained the Constitutional Relationship of the only Muslim Majority State in India, with the Union of India!

While the Union Govt. will repent its unconstitutional and illegal action of abrogating the Article 370, at some point of time, it (Central Govt.) should meanwhile devise a Constitutional Mechanism to restore the Autonomy to the J&K State as enshrined in the now abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution of India!

“Its roughshod treatment of Kashmir will land it in great difficulty at home and abroad.

It should understand why the European Parliament and others in the world often discuss Kashmir! It should immediately appreciate why the retiring British High Commissioner in an interview with the NDTV, last evening, emphasized that Kashmir was a dispute between India and Pakistan and, in this connection, he also said that the aspirations of the people of Kashmir must be respected.
