SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 28: The Srinagar administration has designated Revenue officers of the district as Public Information Officers or PIOs and First Appellant Authorities or FAAs for their respective offices.
The communication said the designation of officers as PIOs and FAAs is being made in accordance with the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2005.
While the Assistant Commissioner Revenue and the Assistant Director Planning have been designated as PIOs for DC Office Srinagar and Planning Office Srinagar respectively, the concerned Tehsildars have been designated as PIOs for their respective offices.
The latter also include Tehsildar Recoveries and Tehsildar Nazool who have been designated as PIOs for their respective offices.
The communication said the PIOs will ensure that Right to Information cases pertaining to their jurisdiction are dealt with as per relevant sections of the J&K Right to Information Act 2009 and in a time-bound manner.
The officers designated as FAAs include Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Srinagar and Joint Director Planning Srinagar who have been designated as FAAs for the DC Office Srinagar.
These also include Assistant Commissioner Nazool designated as the FAA for Recoveries, Nazool, Tehsil South, Tehsil Chanpora and Tehsil Panthachowk offices, Sub Divisional Magistrate East as the FAA for Tehsil North, Tehsil Khanyar and Tehsil Eidgah offices, and Sub Divisional Magistrate West as the FAA for Tehsil Shalteng office.
