ANANTNAG, APRIL 15: DM Anantnag, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar today visited red zone villages of Nowgam and Check Wangund along with ACR, CMO and other concerned officers .
In Nowgam, where from one COVID–19 positive case was reported yesterday (2nd in the district), the DM asked the concerned to seal all the exit and entry points of the village. He was informed that 347 persons of the village were screened by four Surveillance Teams of Health department so far while the process of screening the 7680 souls of 1280 families of the village is on.
BMO, Shangus informed that 37 person have been sent for 14 day quarantine at GDC, Anantnag, who had close contacts with the detected COVID – 19 positive person of the Nowgam village. The DM directed the CMO, Anantnag to taking samples of the relatives and neighbors of the positive person immediately.
He also visited Red zone declared village, Check -e – Wangund, where from 1st COVID – 19 positive case of the district was reported and enquired about the facilities at Quarantine Centre establish there. He also directed the SDM and SHO, Dooru to ensure complete lock-down in the village and asked not to allow any person to enter the village.
The DM appealed the people to stay at home and maintain social distance to remain safe from the COVID – 19 diseases.
