We properly perform our duties, say Docs at Gyncology Dept of SKIMS Bemina

KINS Desk

Srinagar, April 30(KINS): Doctors at the Gyncology Department of SKIMS Bemina Thursday said they were “properly performing” their duties.

“We are ready to work and are not hesitant to conduct surgeries on COVID patients. We recently conducted surgery of a lady who was taken as COVID positive patient. After delivering the baby, she turned negative. There should not be misinformation that we are non performing doctors,” a senior doctor of Gyncology Department of SKIMS Bemina told news agency KINS over the phone.

The doctor called the KINS office a day after Principal SKIMS Bemina College Dr Riyaz Ahmad Untoo made claims that “non performing” doctors of the hospital were aghast with him.

Dr Untoo has questioned the performance of doctors of the Gyncology Department.

Hitting back at Principal, the doctor said, “Only one patient was admitted here since SKIMS Bemina was designated as COVID hospital. We have three more patients among them one lady is likely to deliver in a couple of days. Our department is only for COVID patients and should not be compared with LD Hospital which conducts surgeries of non COVID patients.”
The doctor said they should be given proper protective gear while treating patients.

While, Principal SKIMS College Bemina Wednesday said they provide proper protective gear to doctors. “The hospital administration is providing 90 GSM PPE kits to doctors. Still there are some who don’t want to work. Some people are spreading misinformation that doctors are not provided protective gear which is baseless. Some non performing doctors are aghast with me,” Dr Untoo said.((KINS)
