DC Budgam inspects quarantine centers Takes stock of Covid-19 facilities, testing arrangements for returnees to district


BUDGAM, MAY 09: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai today stressed on aggressive contact tracing of all contacts of latest 14 Covid-19 positives cases and putting them in quarantine immediately.


The DC said this while chairing a meeting to review the Covid-19 related facilities at Conference Hall Budgam. The meeting among others was attended by ADC, Dr Nasir Ahmad, GM DIC, ACD, ACR, CMO, all Nodal Officers, DIO, DHO, BMOs and other concerned.


“Latest positive cases might have number of contacts as reports of many workers of the industry have emerged positive, concerted efforts are needed to track all workers and their contacts on war footing”, DC said and added, “The suspects shall be quarantined and check if any of them turns infected to contain spread of virus”.


Later DC Budgam visited various Red Zone areas including Norkara, Mirgund Gudsatoo to ascertain the reasons of emerging of various positive cases from FIL industries Rangreth.
He said the administration is geared up to tackle any emergency that arises due to increase in positive cases and impending alarm.


Ganai assured that District Administration is always available for any sort of help to people living in red zones and other areas and said, “We will jointly fight against the corona virus pandemic”.


Instructions were also passed on to the concerned to update DC office with all statistics related to COVID-19 on daily basis through a hard copy.


Emphasizing on fool-proof arrangements for all returnees, the DC said that another batch of stranded passengers is returning to Kashmir on 11th and 12th May through direct flights while inward movement of all returnee persons via road shall be accommodated at JNV School.
He further said that testing of pregnant women shall be conducted at their respective BMO offices to ensure any inconveniences to them during this process. S Stressing on proper sanitation and fumigation of all quarantine centers, the Municipal Committees of Budgam were directed to ensure daily cleaning and lifting of garbage and waste material and its proper disposal.
The DC further said that the district administration in collaboration with medical team shall carry mass sample collection of all pregnant women, persons having respiratory tract infections, ILIs, elderly persons in all red zone areas of the district.
