Youth critically injured in bear attack in Uri

Uri, June 07 (KINS): A youth was critically injured after a wild bear attacked him on Sunday morning at Nowshera area of  North Kashmir’s Uri sector.

Reports reaching news agency KINS said, Mohammad Yaseen Chowdary son of Mohammad Yaqoob Chowdary of Hundi Nowshera was returning home from the nearby forest when he came across a wild bear who was roaming in the human settlement in search of food.

The bear then attacked the youth leaving him injured critically. However he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was referred to Sub District Hospital Uri for treatment.

Confirming the incident to news agency KINS, Block Medical Officer Uri Dr Ramzan said the injured youth is stable and is undergoing treatment here.

Meanwhile police took cognizance of this incident.(KINS)
