Congress Sarpanch Ajay’s killing another attempt to trigger communal frenzy, says BJP’s Councilor Rakesh Koul

‘Such attempts will not succeed in dividing communities on religious lines as done in 1990s’

Anantnag, June 09 (KINS): Rakesh Koul, a Kashmiri Pandit and BJPs councilor for Municipal Committee Mattan area in South Kashmir’s Annatnag district while terming the killing of a Congress Sarpanch Ajay Pandita as barbaric and highly condemnable act, Tuesday said that such acts are aimed at triggering a communal frenzy on the lines of one witnessed in 1990.

Talking to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), Raina said that Ajay was working for the welfare of people and to promote communal harmony, but his killing is an attempt to divide the people on communal lives.

“We won’t be bogged down by Ajay’s killing and will defeat this attempt which is aimed at triggering communal tensions once again the way it was done in 1990,” he said.

He said communal harmony and brotherhood among all communities belonging to different religions will continue to remain intact and flourish further. “We urge the GoI to provide a security cover to all the political representatives including Sarpanchs, Panchs, Councilors and Corporators so that elements hell bent to divide us again on communal lines are kept at a baby,” Raina said.

He said that GoI must direct the police to find out and nab the culprits behind the killing of Ajayji and bring them to justice.(KINS)
