Raouf Dar

SRINAGAR, July 9(KINS): People from various areas of Shopian are facing inconveniences as no dentist is available at Sub District Hospital Keller.

Hundreds of patients visit Sub District Hospital Keller daily for the treatment. However, patients suffering from dental diseases have to return disappointed as there is no dentist at SDH Keller Shopian.

“There were two dentists at SDH Hospital. One has been deputed to Srinagar Airport and another is collecting samples for COVID testing in the area,” an official told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

The official said more than 20 patients visit the hospital daily  who are suffering from dental problems.

“I have had severe pain for the last two weeks and have to extract my teeth. But no dentist is available here,” one of the patients who visit the hospital on Thursday told KINS.  “We live in a far-flung area and it is not possible to visit the main Shopian hospital. Nobody is paying heed towards our problems,” he added.

BMO Keller Dr Zaraar admitted that both the dentists have been deputed for COVID duty.

“But there are some doctors from other departments who see these patients,” Dr Zaraar said.(KINS)
