Srinagar, July 23 (KINS): At least 31 people have been tested positive for coronavirus at Qazigun block of Kulgam district on Thursday.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund Dr Zahoor Ahmad told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that 31 people have been tested positive for coronavirus at Qazigun block on Thursday. Among them 20 are male and 11 female.

He has appealed to people to maintain proper social distancing and use masks. “We will be able to contain the virus from spread if people adhere to government advisory and health guidelines,” he added.

As per the advisory, early detection of COVID-19 can prevent the spread of disease so we need to be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. “Not disclosing symptoms could put the life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline numbers and seek medical advice”.

Advisory has further exhorted upon the people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent handwashing with soap and water.”(KINS)
