Srinagar, Jan 09 (KINS): To ensure smooth conduct of Republic Day function, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara,Nazir Ahmad Mir, today convened a meeting of all concerned officers at Town Hall, here.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the officers to ensure hassle free arrangements for smooth conduct of the said National Event and instructed them to follow the timeline for ensuring arrangements well in advance. He also directed them to follow protocol of COVID-19 strictly and ensure use of masks in the function.
The meeting discussed Security arrangements and it was informed that the main function of the Republic Day will start with Shahnai Vadan at 8: 50 AM at District Police Lines (DPL) Handwara, where National Flag will be hoisted and the VIP will take salute on the March Past comprising the contingents of JKP, JKAP, lIRP, CRPF, and BSF.
The ADC instructed the R & B Department, Mechanical Engineering and Municipality Handwara to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the DPL ground. They were also directed to keep manpower available in case of snowfall on both days of rehearsal and main function.
The PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply besides the Health department was ordered to deploy doctors and paramedics along with Ambulance and first aid at the venue.
Among others, SSP Handwara, Tehsildars Handwara and other officers from various departments were present on the occasion.(KINS)
