Sanjay Kumar and Ram Rathan started their run from Kanyakumari on January 12 — National Youth Day– and wanted to conclude the run on March 8–on International Women’s Day. However, they reached the famous Dal lake of Srinagar on Friday morning– ahead of their schedule. They carried out the run with an aim to create awareness regarding health.
During their run of more than 4200 kilometers, the officers were joined by other runners to boost their morale.
Rathan and Kumar said they have completed their journey with the support of people from different walks of life.
They added that their run in Himachal Pradesh and from Jammu to Srinagar was a different experience for them.
“We decided to take up the run in the wake of Covid pandemic. Nowadays other lifestyle diseases, mental health issues and disabilities are on the rise. So we wanted to spread awareness among people to take care of their health,” they said.(KINS)
