NC leader takes on Mehbooba, Mufti Saeed
Says PAGD gave space to ‘non-existent PDP’

Raouf Dar
Kulgam April 21 (KINS): Cracks seems further widening within the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) with leaders of National Conference openly taking on Peoples Democratic Party.
The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) was formed by seven political parties including National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party to fight for restoration of Article 370.
However, the cracks have further widened with leaders open criticizing to leaders of other parties.
The fresh development took place on Wednesday when NC leader and former MLA Abdul Majid Larmi took on Mehbooba Mufti and her father Mufti Mohammad Saeed for “deceiving” the NC.
According to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), Larmi while addressing a party gathering in Kulgam said, “PDP would not have won a single seat in DDC polls had Dr Farooq Abdullah not given mandate to some PDP candidates. This party does not exist here. NC gave them space owing which PDP won several seats. We were told not to give any statement against PDP which may harm the PAGD.”
He claimed, “Mehbooba Mufti is now making excuses and wants to leave the PAGD. Her father also cheated NC when he withdrew support during the time of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and then during tenure of Farooq Abdullah.”
Earlier, Basharat Bukhari who was then part of the National Conference (NC) publicly challenged the PAGD leadership to roll out the “road map” of getting back Article 370 and the Statehood.
“Gupkar Declaration” was for protecting Article 370, 35-A, the Constitution and the flag of Jammu and Kashmir and the Statehood. That all stands snatched away”, Bukhari had said.
