DC Shopian congratulates public for achieving breakthrough in Covid mitigation

SHOPIAN, AUGUST 10 ( KINS ): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today congratulated, praised the people of Shopian for their cooperation to the district Administration vis-à-vis achieving breakthrough in Covid-19 pandemic mitigation.

The DC said that the vaccination of 18-44 years of age group is in full swing in the district to achieve herd immunity in the near future and prevent spread of virus.

He said that the positivity rate is witnessing a sharp decrease in the district than other districts which is a sign of satisfaction. He further added that the enforcement team has also been constituted for the purpose to keep close vigil on the situation as one such case was reported at Hermain Shopian where during the Tournament, SOPs were not followed.

The DC warned that action under norms will be initiated against the violators.

He appealed to the people not to venture unnecessarily out of their homes, wear face masks, maintain social distance, wash hands with soap properly to save themselves, family and others from contracting or spreading viruses.

The DC reiterated his appeal to the people that in view of the prediction of the 3rd Wave of Covid-19, everybody should continue to follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and other SOPs in letter and spirit.

He also appealed to the masses to come forward and administer Covid vaccine at nearby vaccination centres for their safety against the pandemic.
