DoPT asks MHA to get Sehrish Asgar relieved

Srinagar Sep 14: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has written to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for relieving IAS officer Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar from Jammu and Kashmir segment of AGMUT cadre without any further delay.
Asgar, presently posted as Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla is an IAS officer of 2013 batch of Punjab cadre. She is on deputation to Jammu and Kashmir, her native Union Territory.

A DoPT order said the inter-cadre deputation tenure of Asgar has already ended on June 10, 2023 and two months period to be availed as ‘end of tenure leave’ has also lapsed.

“The inter-cadre deputation guidelines provide that in case no specific approval of the Central Government for extension is received within the period for which deputation was originally valid, the officer shall have to be relieved positively and immediately on completion of original tenure.
“In view of this, the MHA is requested to get the officer relieved from J&K segment of AGMUT cadre without further delay,” the DoPT order read.
