Fresh Snowfall delights tourists at renowned ski resort gulmarg

Srinagar, Dec 17: The renowned ski destination of Gulmarg in the picturesque region of Kashmir has welcomed a fresh blanket of snow, creating a winter wonderland that has left tourists elated.
As temperatures dropped, Gulmarg transformed into a pristine landscape overnight, adorned with glistening white powder. The snowfall, which began yesterday evening and continued into the early hours, has added a new layer to the already captivating scenery, turning Gulmarg into a haven for winter enthusiasts.
Tourists, donned in colorful winter gear, thronged the slopes to experience the freshly fallen snow. The ski resort, renowned for its challenging slopes and breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas, is now buzzing with activity as skiers and snowboarders eagerly hit the slopes to carve their way through the powdery terrain.

Local businesses are also rejoicing as the surge in visitors brings a boost to the region’s economy. Hotels and resorts are reporting increased bookings, while local shops offering winter gear and traditional Kashmiri handicrafts are witnessing a spike in sales.

“I’ve been coming to Gulmarg for years, and this fresh snowfall has elevated the experience to a whole new level. The landscape is stunning, and the conditions for skiing are perfect,” expressed a delighted tourist.

Gulmarg, often referred to as the “meadow of flowers,” is not only a magnet for winter sports enthusiasts but also attracts nature lovers seeking the tranquility of the snow-covered mountains. The Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks and dense forests, making it a must-visit attraction.

Local authorities are ensuring the safety of tourists by deploying additional staff for snow-clearing operations and maintaining the infrastructure.
