Srinagar, Jan 09: In a strategic move towards enhancing Solid Waste Management (SWM) practices, the District Administration of Ganderbal has launched a comprehensive week-long User Charge Collection Drive. The initiative aims to foster community involvement for the effective implementation of SWM measures within the district.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ganderbal, has emphasized the importance of community participation in maintaining a cleaner and greener environment. The User Charge Collection Drive is designed to create awareness and encourage citizens to contribute their share for sustainable waste management solutions.
As part of the drive, various awareness programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives will be organized throughout the week. The District Administration aims to educate residents on the significance of proper waste disposal and the role of user charges in sustaining SWM infrastructure.
“The success of Solid Waste Management largely depends on the active involvement of the community. Through this week-long drive, we aim to not only collect user charges but also to educate and engage citizens in the process of maintaining a clean and healthy environment,” stated the Administration.
The initiative aligns with the district’s commitment to achieving the goals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and fostering a sense of responsibility among the residents.
