Successful Door-to-Door Waste Collection Initiative in Kulgam Boosts Public Awareness on Source Segregation

Srinagar, Jan 22: In a commendable move towards sustainable waste management, the Municipal Council (MC) of Kulgam has expressed gratitude to the residents of the town for their active cooperation in the door-to-door collection of waste, coupled with a robust public awareness campaign emphasizing source segregation.

Over the past month, MC Kulgam has implemented a comprehensive waste collection strategy that involves dedicated teams going door-to-door to collect household waste. The initiative has not only streamlined waste disposal but also aimed to educate residents on the importance of segregating recyclables, organics, and general waste at the source.

One of the officials highlighted the positive response from the community, stating, “We are truly grateful for the residents’ enthusiastic participation in this initiative. Their cooperation has been instrumental in making our town cleaner and more environmentally responsible.”

The campaign included awareness drives,to educate citizens about the benefits of separating different types of waste. MC Kulgam is hopeful that this sustained effort will lead to a more sustainable waste management system, reducing the environmental impact and promoting a greener Kulgam.

Residents have acknowledged the positive change brought about by the initiative, expressing their commitment to continued collaboration with MC Kulgam for a cleaner and healthier environment.
