Director Health Services Kashmir Urges Action Against Unethical Practices of Private Testing Labs’ Agents

Srinagar, Feb 02: The Director Health Services Kashmir has raised concerns over reports indicating that agents from private testing labs are actively persuading patients to undergo medical tests privately, despite such services being readily available at government healthcare facilities.
Government hospital Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents have been urged to take proactive measures to discourage these practices.
With the support of law enforcement agencies, efforts are underway to crack down on such unethical behavior and encourage patients to utilize government healthcare services.
This unethical practice not only undermines public healthcare efforts but also potentially exposes patients to unnecessary financial burdens.
In response to these developments, the Director Health Services Kashmir has emphasized the importance of implementing a robust monitoring system to address complaints related to the activities of private testing labs’ agents. This system will serve as a mechanism to promptly identify and address instances of unethical practices and inform the relevant directorate for further action.
The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any instances of coercion or persuasion by private testing labs’ agents to government healthcare authorities. By working together to combat these unethical practices, the healthcare system can ensure that patients receive the quality care they deserve without being unduly influenced by profit-driven motives.
