Srinagar,May 18: Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), completed a productive three-day visit to Srinagar, reinforcing NCC’s dedication to empowering the youth and strengthening the organization’s future.
During his visit from May 16 to 18, Lt Gen Singh engaged in various activities to enhance the NCC’s operations in the region. He was received by Maj Gen Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, Additional Director General NCC, Jammu Kashmir, and Ladakh Directorate, along with Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, Sena Medal Group Commander NCC Group Srinagar.
A key highlight was his interaction with NCC cadets and officers at the NCC Group Headquarters in Gogji Bagh, Srinagar. Lt Gen Singh stressed the importance of establishing new NCC Battalions in Jammu and Kashmir, addressing the challenges posed by security, terrain, and weather.
In recognition of their dedication and excellence, Lt Gen Singh presented awards to outstanding NCC cadets and staff. He also released a quotes book compiled by the NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, celebrating the organization’s spirit and ethos.
Addressing the cadets, Lt Gen Singh reaffirmed NCC’s commitment to developing future leaders and instilling values of discipline, dedication, and service. He encouraged them to adopt a ‘Never Give Up’ attitude, promoting resilience and determination.
Lt Gen Singh also met with key stakeholders, including the GOC 15 Corps and Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, to discuss the expansion of NCC activities and infrastructure. An Air Squadron in Udhampur was announced, meeting a long-standing aspiration of NCC cadets in the region.
During his meeting with Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, Lt Gen Singh discussed various matters related to the enhancement of NCC operations in Jammu and Kashmir. The Lt Governor awarded a Unit Citation to the NCC Directorate for its exceptional performance and well-organized training initiatives.
