Srinagar, Aug 28 (KINS): The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has one again called on the public to take advantage of the highly subsidized PM Surya Ghar scheme, which promotes the installation of solar rooftop systems.
The scheme, designed to make solar energy accessible to households, offers significant financial support to those who register.
KPDCL officials emphasized the simplicity and benefits of the program, urging citizens to act quickly. “Register, select an empaneled vendor, and install a solar rooftop system. Under this scheme, an amount of ₹94,800 will be directly credited into your account for systems up to 3 kWp,” a senior KPDCL official sharing details told news agency KINS.
The PM Surya Ghar scheme is part of a broader national effort to encourage renewable energy use and reduce dependency on conventional power sources.
By subsidizing solar installations, the government aims to make clean energy a viable option for more households, contributing to both economic and environmental benefits.
Residents are encouraged to explore the scheme and take proactive steps towards sustainable energy solutions, as the demand for solar power continues to rise in the region.(KINS)
