Srinagar, Sep 09 (KINS): Tariq Hameed Karra, President of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), on Monday, strongly condemned what he called the “derogatory remarks and inappropriate language used by Congress leader and INC candidate Vikar Rasool Wani against the National Conference (NC) leadership during a program in Banihal”.
“The Congress Party disassociates itself from such statements and condemns the use of such language,” Karra stated as per the party statement.
He emphasized the “party’s respect for the late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah, calling the latter one of J&K’s most senior and respected political figures”.
Karra reiterated that the Indian National Congress (INC) and the National Conference (NC) are contesting the upcoming elections in alliance “against the BJP, united in their efforts to safeguard the dignity and rights of the people of J&K”.
“Such statements are unacceptable and undermine the principles of democracy and mutual respect in political discourse,” Karra added, urging political leaders to maintain dignity and decorum in their public statements.(KINS)
