Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Applauds Cabinet’s Decision to Extend Health Coverage to Seniors

Srinagar, Sep 11 (KINS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Union Cabinet’s decision to expand health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, irrespective of income. The approval, announced today, marks a significant enhancement in the scheme’s scope.
Singh described the move as a “people-friendly decision” that will provide crucial health security to the elderly. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading this initiative, emphasizing the profound impact it will have on ensuring better healthcare access for senior citizens across India.
The expanded coverage under AB PM-JAY will now offer up to ₹5 lakh in free health insurance annually to eligible seniors, representing a major step forward in the government’s commitment to improving the well-being of its elderly population.(KINS)
