JAMMU, Sep 16 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Police have flagged a fake Facebook account impersonating ADGP, Jammu Zone, Anand Jain. They have advised the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious online activity.
Authorities have urged people not to interact with such fake accounts and to rely on the verified social media handles of the Jammu and Kashmir Police for accurate information.
In an official statement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed that a thorough investigation is in progress. Strict legal action will be taken to hold those responsible accountable. “It has come to our notice that a fake Facebook account has been created using the name of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone. This fraudulent act is a serious violation and an attempt to mislead the public,” the statement read.
The police have emphasized that they take cyber offenses very seriously and are initiating immediate legal action against the perpetrators involved in this unlawful activity.
The public is advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activity to the authorities. “We also urge citizens not to engage with or follow any such fraudulent accounts. For any official communication or information, please refer to the verified and legitimate social media accounts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police,” the statement concluded.(KINS)
