Srinagar, Nov 14 (KINS): In an effort to strengthen public engagement and streamline grievance redressal, a new initiative has been launched to provide a dedicated space for people to voice their concerns, offer suggestions, and receive timely responses.
This was stated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s Political Advisor, Nasir Wani, while opening the new office here.
“This initiative, envisioned by Omar Abdullah, aims to bridge the gap between the public and government by creating an accessible platform for communication. The office, which will be easily accessible to the general public, will accommodate both high-ranking officials and ordinary citizens, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard,” Nasir Wani said, according to news agency KINS.
“This initiative replaces the previous CM’s rehearsal or grievance cell system, expanding its focus to not only address grievances but also provide solutions and suggestions from the public. The office is designed to function as a more comprehensive public outreach center, encouraging citizens to share their concerns, ideas, and recommendations for improving governance,” he said.
He further stated that while grievances can certainly be raised, the platform is equally open to positive feedback and suggestions that contribute to better policymaking.
Regarding the office’s operational timings, Nasir Wani said that the office will be fully operational. “The CM will remain available here based on his schedule, and the program will be notified in advance. People will be informed about the office’s working hours and the procedures for submitting grievances or suggestions,” he said. (KINS)
