Is NC’s resolution for restoration of Statehood or Article 370”, asks Mehbooba Mufti

‘Congress statemen that resolution was only for restoration of Statehood confusing, NC must clear air’
Srinagar, Nov 16 (KINS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti Saturday said Congress statement that the resolution passed in the Legislative Assembly was for restoration of statehood has cast serious doubts on the resolution and that the National Conference should clear the air on it forthwith.

Talking to reporters, Mehbooba said that the statement made by Congress leadership that resolution passed in the Assembly was only for restoration of statehood has added to the ambiguity already revolving over it. “NC despite having 50 members on its side should have first condemned the August 5, 2019 move of Centre. We were the first to claim that the resolution was ambiguous and it was presented in a way as if NC was shy to table it,” the PDP chief said.

She said since the resolution is full of ambiguity and there is no clarity, NC must be clear as to whether the resolution was for only restoration of statehood or Article 370.

Pertinently, J&K PCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra recently stated that the resolution passed in the LA was for restoration of Statehood. His statement was followed by All India Congress Committee Chief Malikarjun Kharge who said that the Article 370 was a closed chapter.—(KINS)
