Man axes mother-in-law to death, Injures Wife and Sister-in-Law in Udhampur

Jammu, November 18 ( KINS ) : A man allegedly killed his mother-in-law and severely injured his wife and sister-in-law following a family dispute in Kiya village, located in the Ramnagar area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. The incident occurred on Sunday night, and police disclosed the details on Monday.
According to the police, Suresh Kumar attacked his mother-in-law, Shanti Devi, wife Lalita, and sister-in-law Anju Devi with a sharp-edged weapon. After the attack, Kumar fled the scene, leaving the three women in a pool of blood.
Shanti Devi was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Lalita and Anju were critically injured and referred to the district hospital in Udhampur for specialized treatment.
A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused. Meanwhile, Kumar’s brother-in-law, Rakesh, stated that the accused was under the influence of alcohol during the attack. He further mentioned that Kumar had a dispute with his wife a few days earlier and had been pressuring her to return home.
“He killed my mother and injured my sisters. He should be arrested and given exemplary punishment,” Rakesh demanded.
The police have launched a search operation to track down Suresh Kumar. Authorities stated that further action will be taken following a detailed investigation into the case.( KINS )
