Srinagar, Nov 27 (KINS): Baramulla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Minga Sherpa has assured that efforts are underway to resolve healthcare challenges in the district, with vacancies for critical care specialists expected to be filled soon.
Addressing concerns about the lack of a nephrologist in the GMC Baramulla, DC Minga Sherpa said, “We have taken up the matter of critical care vacancies with the government and are hopeful these positions will be filled shortly,” he told reporters, as per news agency KINS.
The DC said that to improve services, 1 crore is being used under NHPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative this year to set up additional dialysis facilities.
“This will ensure that patients don’t face any problems,” he added.
The Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, a key tertiary care hospital in north Kashmir, has recently introduced new facilities like a Medical Records Department (MRD) and a waiting hall to better accommodate patients and their attendants.
The DC also shared plans to further expand the hospital’s infrastructure, ensuring it can handle the growing demand for quality healthcare in the North Kashmir.(KINS)
