Srinagar, Dec 12 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party chief Sat Sharma launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC), accusing the party of attempting to revive “divisive and anti-national politics” in the J&K.
He said that the first reaction of the National Conference resolution was that BJP members were dragged out of the Legislative Assembly.
Speaking of the National Conference resolution, Sharma while addressing a function in Jammu as per news gathering agency KINS said, ‘it was aimed at turning back the clock to an era when Pakistan allegedly influenced decisions in J&K’.
“The first impact of NC’s resolution was evident when BJP members were dragged out of the Legislative Assembly during those days,” Sharma said.
He vowed that the BJP would not allow such politics to resurface.
Highlighting the transformative changes brought by the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, Sharma said the move restored honor, rights and equality to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“It gave justice to women who married outside J&K, as well as dignity and basic rights to Valmikis, West Pakistani refugees, and other downtrodden communities who were marginalized for decades,” Sharma said.
Accusing the NC of attempting to undo these gains, Sharma said, “They are trying to bring back the bad days when people called the shots in Pakistan’s directions. We will not let NC’s divisive agenda succeed.”
Sharma also urged BJP workers to step up efforts to strengthen the party, calling for a robust push in the ongoing membership drive.
“Every BJP worker must rope in at least ten new members to ensure its success. The BJP is the world’s largest political party with over 12 crore members, and this number reflects the trust people have in our vision,” he said.(KINS)
