Jammu, Dec 26 (KINS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the Christmas celebrations organized by the All J&K Christian Sabha, engaging with the Bishop, priests, and members of the CNI Church, Jammu-Srinagar Diocese. He praised their significant contributions to fostering a peaceful, compassionate, and caring society.
“The Christian community has made remarkable contributions to education and healthcare through their selfless service. I hope their commitment to serving humanity inspires others,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He urged all sections of society to embrace the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ, emphasizing peace, forgiveness, and compassion. “Our primary objective is to kindle the spirit of love, kindness, and brotherhood in the hearts of all citizens,” he stated.
Highlighting the values espoused by Christ, the Lieutenant Governor called for adherence to ideals of purity in thought, moral actions, and selfless service. “Lord Christ’s emphasis on doing good deeds without expectation and his message of universal brotherhood hold immense relevance in today’s world,” he noted.
The Lieutenant Governor appealed to the youth, as custodians of spiritual and cultural values, to work towards equality, fraternity, and mutual respect. “India’s unique cultural heritage thrives on the coexistence of diverse religions, enriching our society,” he remarked.
He further stressed that unity is the cornerstone for building a just and vibrant society, urging everyone to uphold harmony and solidarity in their daily lives.
Most Rev. Ivan Albert Pereira, Bishop of the Jammu-Srinagar Diocese, extended the Christian community’s unwavering support to the government’s efforts in promoting inclusive development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashu Peter Mattoo, President of the All J&K Christian Sabha, along with heads of institutions, youth, community members, and prominent citizens from various walks of life, attended the event, underscoring the shared commitment to peace and harmony.(KINS)
