Srinagar, Dec 27 (KINS): Dr. Owais Ahmed IAS, Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing snow clearance and dewatering operations across the city.
During his visit, the Commissioner closely monitored the progress of snow clearance efforts, ensuring that roads, lanes, bylanes, and walkways were being cleared promptly to guarantee safe passage for residents. He also assessed the deployment of resources and coordination among the teams involved in these critical tasks.
In addition, he visited several permanent dewatering stations to assess their functionality, particularly in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging during snowmelt and rainfall. He stressed the importance of maintaining these stations in optimal condition to effectively manage stormwater challenges.
While commending the hard work of SMC personnel, the Commissioner urged the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during inclement weather. He also encouraged residents facing issues related to snow clearance or waterlogging to contact the SMC’s 24/7 Control Room for immediate assistance.(KINS)
