Rajouri, Dec 17 (KINS): BJP MLA from Padder Nagseni and Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly, Sunil Sharma, has sharply criticized the J&K Government for its irresponsible attitude towards the mysterious deaths in Badhaal village of Rajouri.
Since December 7, 16 people from three families have lost their lives in three separate incidents, causing widespread shock across the region.
Sharma in a statement issued to news agency KINS condemned Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his “perceived indifference to the tragedy, stating that while people were losing their lives, the Chief Minister was busy enjoying skiing and snowfall”.
“The Chief Minister should have responded immediately to this situation, but instead, he chose to send his Ministers, who failed to visit Badhaal and instead held meetings at Kotranka and returned. This shows that the efforts were nothing more than a mere eyewash,” Sharma said.
The BJP leader claimed that the CM only chaired a meeting on Friday after BJP leaders visited the area and highlighted the suffering of the local population.
Sharma further stated that the NC-led J&K Government should have taken the issue more seriously, as 16 innocent lives had been lost, creating widespread fear among the local people.
He also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, adding that the BJP had compiled a list of all the issues and grievances of the people, which have been taken up with the concerned authorities, including the Government of India, for redressal.(KINS)
