LG Manoj Sinha highlights Uttar Pradesh’s cultural and spiritual legacy at foundation day event

Jammu, Jan 24 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday attended the Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan, Jammu, and extended warm greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor paid tribute to the great saints, writers, freedom fighters and revolutionaries from Uttar Pradesh, recalling their major contribution to the making of modern India.

He said scholars have long described ancient Uttar Pradesh as the heartland of India and the birthplace of important scriptures such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranas. “To me, Uttar Pradesh is a source that has shaped and nurtured India’s cultural consciousness,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor noted that the true richness of Uttar Pradesh cannot be expressed fully in words and must be experienced. Referring to the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers, he said the region has remained a spiritual centre for thousands of years, offering wisdom to humanity and inspiring the world through its cultural and literary heritage.

Describing Uttar Pradesh as India’s vital core, LG Sinha said the state binds the nation from north to south and east to west. He added that spiritual thinkers from the region taught the timeless lesson that self-realisation is the highest pursuit in life.

“The most important journey is the inward journey. This wisdom is especially relevant in today’s fast-changing world,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor also spoke about Uttar Pradesh’s recent development, saying the state has made remarkable progress. He expressed hope that Uttar Pradesh will continue to grow and achieve greater economic and social milestones in the future.

The cultural programme was attended by Hathras Member of Parliament Anoop Pradhan, senior officials, students and residents of Uttar Pradesh living in the Union Territory.(KINS)
