Mysterious illness in Badhal: Families to be relocated to Govt. Nursing College, Rajouri

Authorities assign departments and officers for proper care and support

Rajouri, Jan 22 (KINS): Amid the alarming situation in Badhal village, where an unexplained illness has claimed 17 lives in the six weeks and four new cases have emerged in the last 24 hours, the district administration has decided to relocate affected families to the Government Nursing College, Rajouri.

Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Rajouri, has issued an order outlining a comprehensive plan to ensure the smooth relocation and care of the families. Specific responsibilities have been assigned to various departments and officers to provide necessary arrangements at the Nursing College.

Key Measures and Assignments:

  • Security: The Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, has been directed to ensure security arrangements at the Nursing College and restrict unauthorized movement in the area.
  • Healthcare: The Principal of GMC & AH, Rajouri, will deploy a team of doctors on a 24×7 basis, while the Chief Medical Officer will station a medical team, an ambulance, and essential medicines at the site.
  • Hygiene and Essentials: The Assistant Commissioner Panchayat will provide hygiene kits, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and hair oil.
  • Infrastructure: XEN JPDCI and XEN Jal Shakti have been tasked with ensuring uninterrupted electricity and adequate water supply.
  • Accommodation: The Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, will arrange 100 single-bedded mattresses and beds for the relocated families.
  • Food and Cleanliness:
    • The Chief Planning Officer will oversee food arrangements with support from the Accounts Officer and Assistant Director, FCS & CA, Rajouri.
    • The Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee will ensure cleanliness, provide mobile toilets, and install dustbins.
    • The Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety, will test food and water before serving to ensure safety.
  • Monitoring: CCTV cameras will be installed in the kitchen area under the supervision of the Deputy District Election Officer.
  • Inventory Management: The Principal of Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Rajouri, will manage inventory and distribute items as needed.

The Tehsil Supply Officer, FCS & CA, will supervise the preparation and distribution of meals to the families during their stay. (KINS)
