Police arrests 06 gamblers in Awantipora, Rs 500 stake money seized
Srinagar Jan 31 (KINS): Police in Awantipora have arrested six gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Bahu Awantipora, a Police team of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora raided the specific spot and arrested the six gamblers. They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Ab Hameed Khan, Mohd Afzal Sheikh, Wazarqt Ahmad Dhobi, Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, all residents of Bahu Awantipora.
Officers have seized stake money of Rs 500/- and playing cards from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 21/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
Person found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law, the police statement added. (KINS)
