One-Day Awareness Program on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Held in Uri

Baramulla Uri, Mar 15 (KINS): The Department of Social Welfare, Baramulla, organized a one-day awareness program on drug abuse and illicit trafficking under the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan at Girls Higher Secondary School in Uri.

The event saw the participation of 150 people, including students, teachers, and officials. SDPO Uri, Tariq Ahmad, attended as the chief guest, accompanied by SHO Uri Mudasir Ahmad and Advocate Mumtaz Ahmed Beigh. Neetu Bali, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer for Uri and Boniyar, played a key role in coordinating the program.

Speakers at the event drew attention to the rising menace of drug abuse, stressing the need for collective action to tackle the issue. They urged students to take the lead in raising awareness within their communities and become advocates for a drug-free society. The program concluded with an interactive session, reinforcing the collective commitment to combat drug abuse.(KINS)
