Police seize 800 litres of illicit kerosene in Kulgam; three arrested
Srinagar, Mar 15 (KINS): In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the police in Kulgam recovered illicit kerosene and arrested three accused persons involved in the crime.
Acting on specific information regarding the black-market sale of kerosene oil in Arreh and Shalipora, Kulgam, a police team headed by the SHO of Police Station Kulgam, along with an Executive Magistrate, conducted searches in the said villages. During the operation, the police recovered 500 liters and 300 liters of illicit kerosene from the possession of Tariq Ahmad Dar, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Shalipora; Ishfaq Ahmad Wani, son of Ali Mohammad Wani, a resident of Arreh; and Mohammad Lateef Khan, a resident of Sungai Danmar, Srinagar. The accused were arrested on the spot.
Accordingly, cases under FIR Nos. 12 and 21/2025 have been registered at Police Station Kulgam under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation is in progress.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused were illegally selling kerosene oil on the black market.
