Defence Minister visits GMC Jammu, meets injured of Chashoti Kishtwar cloudburst tragedy; says, PM Modi monitoring relief efforts

Jammu, Aug 24 (KINS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to meet the injured of the Chashoti incident and reviewed the medical care being provided to them.
Speaking to reporters after interacting with patients, Rajnath Singh as per news agency KINS said, “I came to meet the injured of the Chashoti incident. The Prime Minister is very concerned and is personally monitoring the situation. Due to bad weather, I could not reach the spot. However, I am relieved that all patients admitted here are out of danger and recovering well. I appreciate the doctors for their dedication.”
The Defence Minister further said that after the hospital visit, he, along with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, would proceed to the Raj Bhavan to hold a virtual interaction with people.
Earlier in the day Jammu and Kashmir, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma announced that the rebuilding of Chashoti village, which was severely affected by a devastating cloudburst, will commence shortly.
“A high-level meeting will soon outline the roadmap for reconstructing homes before the onset of winter. Our goal is to restore the village’s former glory and ensure rehabilitation of all those who lost their homes and livelihoods,” he has said (KINS)
