All colleges in J&K to remain closed tomorrow due to inclement weather

Srinagar, Sept 03 (KINS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Higher Education Department on Wednesday ordered the closure of all Government Degree Colleges, Government Colleges of Engineering and Technology (GCETs), and private colleges across the Union Territory on Thursday tomorrow, in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions.

The directive, issued under Order No. 90-DC (HE) of 2025 by Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges J&K, as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) stated that the measure has been taken as a precautionary step to ensure the safety of students and staff.

“All Government Degree Colleges/GCETs/Private Colleges in the UT of J&K shall remain closed on 04th September, 2025 (Thursday),” the order reads.

The order comes amid continuous rainfall and flood-like conditions in several districts, where authorities are taking precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident.(KINS)
