September 11 (KINS): Director General of Police, J&K, Nalin Prabhat (IPS) chaired a high-level security review meeting today at the Conference Hall of Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the prevailing security scenario and chalk out strategies for further strengthening the security framework across the Union Territory.
The meeting was attended by Spl. DG Coordination J&K S.J.M Gillani, ADGP Hqrs PHQ M.K. Sinha, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, Inspector Generals of Kashmir Zone, Jammu Zone, Crime, Traffic, and Railways, all Range DIsG, DIG Pers PHQ, DPT J&K, district SSsP, SSP PCR Kashmir, SOs to IGP Kashmir and DGP J&K, AIG (CT & Int) PHQ, besides other senior officers.
Senior officers briefed the DGP on the overall security situation, recent anti-terrorist operations, and measures taken in response to emerging challenges. Discussions also covered issues relating to law and order, counter-insurgency operations, and strategies to ensure peaceful conduct of upcoming events.
Directing officers to intensify surveillance on anti-national elements, DGP Prabhat stressed strengthening area domination, securing vulnerable points, and adopting foolproof measures to prevent any untoward incident. He also called for close monitoring of social media to curb misinformation and maintain public order.
The DGP expressed concern over rising crime in some areas and directed district heads to reinforce community policing, enhance public outreach, and launch targeted operations to dismantle criminal networks. Highlighting the growing menace of narcotics, he urged strict and coordinated action against those involved in drug trafficking.
Concluding the meeting, Shri Nalin Prabhat underlined the need for vigilance, synergy, and effective execution of security plans, reaffirming the police leadership’s commitment to uphold peace and safety across Jammu and Kashmir.(KINS)
