Srinagar, Sept 12 (KINS): The ongoing “New Criminal Laws Exhibition” organized by the Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir) at JK Police Public School, Bemina, entered its second day on Friday with continued enthusiasm and active participation from the public.
The three-day exhibition, inaugurated on September 11 by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, is aimed at raising awareness about the newly introduced criminal laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023; Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023.
After drawing an impressive turnout of more than 4,000 students and civil society members on its opening day, the exhibition welcomed another 1,500 visitors on Day 2, including students, professionals, and concerned citizens.
The event continues to serve as a vital platform to promote legal literacy, civic awareness, and informed public participation in the context of major legal reforms.
The exhibition will conclude with a closing ceremony on Saturday, September 13, to which the general public has been invited.
The Economic Offences Wing expressed gratitude to all participants and stakeholders, noting that their support has been instrumental in making the initiative a success.(KINS)
