New Delhi, Oct 10 (KINS): The Supreme Court on Thursday granted the Union of India four additional weeks to file its response to a plea seeking the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
The extension came after Solicitor General requested more time, stating that recent developments, including the incident in Pahalgam, must be taken into account before a final decision is made.
The Centre also informed the apex court that consultations between the Union Government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration are currently underway regarding the issue of statehood.(KINS)
